The Gas Suppression & POG (GSPOG) business is a part of the Fire & Security Products division and provides comprehensive fire safety detection, suppression and controls solutions for high-hazard applications around the world.

DESCRIPTION:

The General Manager for the Suppression business will be part of the Global Gas Suppression & POG leadership team responsible for leading a large, industry-leading and complex global sales portfolio, product management and customer operations to include customer service, training and technical services. The General Manager will drive the business to become a stronger customer-focused, innovative and agile forward-deployed organization, while improving the customer experience and increasing market share.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and implementing strategy to increase global share of segment for fire suppression

  • Development of high-level organization goals and flow-down goals for commercial organization

  • Partnering with other GSPOG and FSP functions to drive towards commercial, operational and financial success

  • Sales forecasting and execution.

  • Sales pipeline development & tracking.

  • Global key account and channel partner management to accelerate growth

  • Implementation of a customer operations strategy to provide best-in-class support to field sales teams to ensure world-class customer experience

  • Building industry-leading commercial team, talent pipeline and management process

  • Product strategy and lifecycle management

  • Implementation of salesforce effectiveness tools and processes to improve customer experience and sales force efficiency

  • Product pricing and competitive analysis

  • Market sizing and competitive industry knowledge

  • Serves as site leader for Ashland manufacturing facility

Qualification:

  • 10-15 years of demonstrated experience in leading global, complex commercial organizations

  • Technical sales experience required

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing product strategy

  • Demonstrated experience in sales pipeline development, sales forecast development and execution

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, working across all levels, functions and global regions.

  • Experience leading multi-department teams within a customer-centric organization

  • Experience in leading change in multi-function, complex and global organization

  • Results driven mindset

  • Travel requirements: 30-40%

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in business, finance or engineering preferred

  • Master’s degree in business, finance or engineering preferred

  • Knowledge or experience within the fire suppression industry preferred
