RESPONSIBILITIES:

The lab technician provides technical support to the Engineering functional groups. This position is for an individual who possesses excellent computer skills with good hands-on work experience while under minimal supervision. The technician will need to understand and perform tasks from written and verbal requirements; setup computers, instrumentation, test cells and equipment, and collect data that is useful in evaluating performance. Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics. This position applies skills to perform HVACR testing and troubleshooting to electromechanical equipment with the ability to analyze HVACR performance data to resolve most questions and problems. Must adapt to new procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements and functions of the position. This position requires a highly motivated methodical person who can maintain composure in a highly motivated work group and the ability to sustain a clean and safe working environment.

Qualification: Must be proficient in MS office applications, specifically Excel, along with overall good computer skills. Understanding HVAC systems, electronic/electrical troubleshooting, and physics of power is highly desirable. Refrigerant Recovery certification, brazing/welding metal, variable speed drive application, auto mechanics, PLC, VB programming, and/or CAD is a plus.

Education:

  • Associates Degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post high school training (two years duration)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus additional specialized courses or short-term training (one year or less) with minimum of 5 years experience
