The Modernization Engineering Manager will be a versatile position with responsibilities in overseeing engineering and operations for all modernization projects in NAA. This position will be responsible for managing the electrical and mechanical groups located in the Otis Service Center.

Job Description:

  • The Provide leadership and guidance to a group of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers engaged in the customization of building specific Modernization systems

  • Responsibility for interpreting bid specs and responding to field questions in an effective & timely manner

  • Strong understanding of engineering change processes and ability to identify & implement product changes & enhancements

  • Responsibility to identify & resolve technical issues and implement long-term product solutions

  • Ability to interpret code changes to identify and implement appropriate product updates

  • Ability to effectively coordinate changes with a diverse supplier base

  • Responsibility for driving department performance and quality metrics

  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure that the business objectives are implemented and achieved.

  • Apply ACE tools as needed to continuously improve processes aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity

  • Partners with senior leadership to establish appropriate budget goals aligned with external product demand and internal strategy

  • Formulates and recommends to senior leadership both long and short range objectives and goals in terms of product costs, quality and manpower requirements which may impact future profits and growth

  • Execute business decisions in a fair and equitable manner, and provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives

Qualification:

  • 5+ years of engineering or operations leadership experience

  • Demonstrated analytical aptitude, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution skills, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Self-directed with excellent practices, processes and procedures

  • Demonstrated flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize

  • Proven track record of supervising people and managing projects

  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and experience working in engineering or operations setting

  • Sound Engineering background including wiring diagrams, systems analysis, motor and machine applications and control logic

  • Fundamental understanding of Control System Logic and Power Electronics

  • Ability to work with suppliers/3rd parties

  • Understanding of mechanical and software functions

  • ECAD tools (Cadence, E3, or others.)

  • Strong communications skills and leadership ability

  • MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline required

  • Master's Degree preferred
