UTAS Sensors & Integrated Systems (SIS) business is a global leader in providing advanced products and services across a range of aerospace and defense systems. SIS delivers integrated aircraft-wide solutions that enhance safety and performance in the most rigorous flight conditions. Its products are on nearly every type of aircraft in operation—from business jets and helicopters to large commercial jets and military vehicles. Products are serviced through our worldwide maintenance, repair and overhaul centers.

UTAS-SIS in Brea, CA is looking for a highly motivated Program Manager to support the development and production support of hoist and winch systems for commercial and military applications. The position requires the candidate to ensure on-schedule, on-budget execution of development programs through effective oversight and collaboration across a wide range in internal and external stakeholders. The position also requires the candidate to serve as the link between the customer and the business with regard to ongoing production programs; ensuring that key deliverables and KPIs to the customer (OTD, quality, responsiveness) and the business (OTD, budget, ACE initiative leadership, etc.) are met.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to meet contractual requirements, including delivery schedules, cost targets, product reliability targets, technical requirements, and overall project objectives

  • Manage and maintain green (excellent) customer scorecards

  • Coordinate with internal and external functions, customers, and regulatory agencies to manage program initiatives.

  • Manage risk by establishing and executing mitigation plans

  • Lead regular customer meetings to discuss upcoming deliveries, ongoing activities, current performance, and future needs.

  • Actively engage with key functional departments to ensure alignment and execution of deliverables

  • Facilitate the organizational response to specific customer needs (engineering, quality, supply chain, schedule expedite/recovery)

  • Report out to site and organizational leadership on performance to KPIs and initiatives.

  • Sponsor or lead ACE (lean) events to reduce waste, lower cost, improve quality or shorten cycle time on production programs.

  • Assist with proposal development and support negotiations of new contracts and contract changes

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • Project management experience with ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

  • Aerospace product development or program management experience.

  • Demonstrated performance to customer deliverables and business KPIs.

  • Work effectively across matrixed organizations.

  • Strong internal and external communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.

  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Technical understanding of electro-mechanical systems and controls.

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role.

  • Demonstrated skill in presenting to executive level management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or

  • Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • PMP certification preferred.
