Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. The Goodrich Hoist and Winch division of UTC Aerospace Systems produces both level wind and translating drum cable management systems used around the world for critical rescue missions by the U.S. and international armed and paramilitary forces, law enforcement, and homeland security. Our rescue hoists have field-proven success in high demand, extreme environment missions and have been instrumental in saving lives in several worldwide disaster relief efforts. Goodrich Hoist and Winch has a continuous operating history of over 140 years since our beginnings as Western Gear Corporation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the business’ sourcing strategy and product transitions.

  • Report to the Supply Chain Manager who is accountable for strategic sourcing, cost reduction, tactical procurement, and NPI purchasing.

  • Develops, drives, and executes sourcing strategies and cost reduction initiatives for existing and new programs including make vs. buy.

  • Leads strategic sourcing, cost, and key metric reviews with site and corporate leadership

  • Introducing the next generation hoist into production with a global sourcing strategy focused on supplier capability, supplier performance, and cost management.

  • Engages, tasks, and supports the central Supply Chain organization with projects to drive cost and sourcing improvements for the Hoist & Winch business.

  • Ensures alignment between the corporate strategic sourcing review board’s and Hoist & Winch’s needs for supplier performance and commodity strategies.

  • Addresses systemic and chronic supply issues (in concert with supplier performance team).

  • Negotiates and secures supply of direct material or indirect services while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct

  • The Strategic Sourcing and Transition Manager is a leader who is comfortable working within a diverse, global matrix organization.

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of related experience in positions of increasing responsibility in supply chain management, finance, business strategy, or operations.

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to lead cross-organizational teams and peers.

  • Experience working with ACE or continuing improvement systems while measuring performance through key metrics and quality management tools.

  • Experience with strategic sourcing and procurement leadership with a proven track record of negotiations and contract/LTA development/execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with aerospace or manufacturing processes, product, and requirements.

  • Knowledgeable across various commodity types and sub-assembly systems.

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing in a manufacturing role, or related experience.

  • Self-directed; strong planning and organizational skills and able adapt to changing priorities and assignments and executing.

  • Experienced negotiator with a solid understanding of contractual terms and conditions.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).

  • Exposure to Enterprise Resource Planning systems, SAP preferred.

  • Utilizes lean principles, a driver of improvement.

  • Good judgment and strong critical thinking skills.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent studies is required.

  • Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent studies is preferred.
