Position:

We are seeking highly motivated Director of Project Management to join our Digital Accelerator in Brooklyn, NYYou will combine your problem solving and analytical skills to identify, quantify, and solve real world problems leveraging best of breed digital technologies. This role will also work closely with UTC’s engineering, design, operations, marketing and service delivery teams to challenge the boundaries of what’s possible.

This position will provide the unique opportunity to operate in a start-up-like environment within a Fortune 50 company. Together we aim to achieve new levels of productivity by changing the way we work and identifying new sources of growth for our customers.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight and management of digital project portfolios and areas including project intake, assessment, resourcing, execution, tracking

  • Collaborate closely across cross-functional business and technical teams to set expectations and guide project execution

  • Plan and coordinate strategic conversations with executive business stakeholders

  • Partner across teams to help drive readiness and quality

  • Consult with technical and creative teams to develop a clear plan and next steps for design and development activities

  • Serve as a single point of contact for project status & issue management

  • Raise and remove all obstacles related to project execution

  • Ensure all deliverables (often times complex/interdisciplinary/interlinked) are clearly specified, scoped and agreed across teams

  • Manage small, medium and large projects for successful delivery

  • Ensure assigned project team(s) understand the project requirements and rationale

  • Recommend and utilize digital tools to increase transparency and communication

  • Recommend and roll out process improvements

  • Consistently adhere to company standards and best practices

  • Key driver and champion of ongoing team process improvements

  • Mentor junior project managers: set professional improvement goals with them and counsel on an ongoing basis

Qualification:

  • 12+ years of project/ program management experience working with digital teams; experience at both a design studio and a large corporate environment preferred

  • Experience coaching and leading project management teams

  • Thorough understanding of Waterfall and Agile project methodologies

  • Experience working effectively with the discipline of Product Management

  • Demonstrated effectiveness developing plans, prioritizing activities and driving execution

  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-disciplinary and geographically dispersed environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information clearly and appropriately handle sensitive information

  • Strong organizational skills with experience coordinating multiple work streams simultaneously

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business priorities and a strong work ethic

Education:

  • Bachelors degree required
