Role Overview

The Senior Plating Engineer leads the operation of the process controls and process improvements and related troubleshooting required to ensure quality requirements and efficiencies are met. Additionally this position will work closely with production to ensure desired metal finishing outcomes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement SPC and other process controls to increase production yield and quality issues

  • Ensure customer specifications are incorporated into testing schedule and requirements

  • Maintain process control lab equipment and justify new capital updates

  • Support maintenance and technicians of process equipment and tank chemistry

  • Investigate, report and resolve process and test failures

  • Support all departments with problem solving on process related issues to the lab

  • Contribute to the resolution of process engineering nonconformance or efficiency issues

  • Support internal and external audit efforts when required including Nadcap and ISO

  • Develop or assist in the development of new processes. Provide technical expertise and counsel to management in the development of new processes.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of electroless and electrolytic plating from preparation to finish

  • Working knowledge of quality systems, quality control, process control, statistical analysis, non-destructive testing, inspection methods.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform high level problem solving.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated and ability to work well with others

  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience
