UTC Aerospace program is seeking to hire a Supplier Quality Manager. Job duties will include the management of both tactical and strategic implications of Supplier Quality. These would include Quality compliance monitoring, corrective action response monitoring, assertion management, and proactive quality activities (APQP, UPPAP, etc.). Experience in aerospace or automotive quality assurance is preferred. Familiarity with FAA/EASA and AS9100 and AS9110 is also preferred. As a member of the Supplier Quality team, you are accountable for supporting regional oversight of all Sensor and Integrated Systems (SIS) suppliers, ensuring product, process, and documentation compliance to business, customer and industry standards. The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for supplier performance by driving suppliers to zero defects, initiating part specific quality issue resolution, and sustained corrective actions. The Supplier Quality Manager is an integral member of the site Quality Clinic and site Corrective Action Process, driving fact based product nonconformance discovery and subsequent root cause analysis with the goal of effective systemic corrective action for delivered supply-based non conformances (escapes).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop local Supplier Quality team, as site supplier quality lead, to effectively manage supplier quality performance.

  • Perform fact based data analysis of supply based product non-conformances in order to execute defect reduction via Zero defect Plan methodologies (ZDP™).

  • Review and approve compliance documentation including First Article Reports (FAI) reports, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages, and other UTC ASQR documentation.

  • Conduct investigations internally or at suppliers to develop root cause and corrective action involving supply-based non-conforming product.

  • Issuing and approving corrective actions to suppliers using SIS business tools.

  • Perform scheduled and qualified audits to industry (AS9100) and/or UTAS/SIS quality system requirements.

  • Support the execution of zero defect plans, work transfer, UPPAP, and QN reduction initiatives at the suppliers.

  • Manages supplier source inspection and material release processes.

  • Supplier Quality site focal and team member for supply-based Work Transfer initiatives.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years supplier quality experience.

  • Passport and available to travel domestically and international 30% of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or electronic industries.

  • Must be computer literate and have prior experience working with SAP or alternate ERP system.Qualified Auditor certified to ASQ and/or AS9100 internal or lead auditor.

  • Proficient and expert knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action methodologies.

  • Skilled in Process Flow Diagramming, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plans for Advanced Product Quality Planning.

  • Fully competent in review and approval of PPAP and FAI from suppliers.

  • Competent in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), PPAP, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline required.

  • Black Belt/Green Belt Certification preferred.
