This position is for a senior Software Engineering professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise. Develops, coordinates and conducts complex tests and debugs control and diagnostic systems, makes recommendations on changes in the selection and application of software production components to management, implements major components, presents designs review, and coordinates with other organizations.
Lead, plan, develop, design and execute wireless and predictive health monitoring (PHM) software product development according to the objectives of DO-178B/C (DAL C-E) for certification on airborne systems with limited supervision
The software engineer tasks include the following:
Create and approve software artifacts.
Interface with external customers and certification authorities
Interface with cross-functional team members.
Develop compliant software artifacts
Provide estimations for new pursuits.
Lead software teams including outsource and offshore resources
Generate requirements, define architecture and develop design, integrate software, verify, validate, and document artifacts for existing and new airborne software products
Execute development process in accordance with regulated and certified processes including RTCA DO-178B/C and standard work processes
Monitor and report project execution using standard metrics for scheduling and budget to leadership
Integrate software with embedded target hardware.
Apply Model-Based Design techniques used in the development lifecycle process.
7 years of prior relevant experience or 5 years of prior relevant experience with an Advanced degree.
Linux OS experience, application development and management of open source software.
802.11 and 802.15 standards, MQTT messaging protocol
IPv4 and IPv6 networking and internet architecture experience
Knowledge in network protocols such as DHCP, NTP/SNTP, DNS/mDNS.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5 percent)
Experience in 802.11 and 802.15.4 Thread, Wireless Network Design preferred
Experience in iOT development using MQTT, MQTT-SN and CoAP preferred.
Real-time embedded and/or RTOS experience - preferred
Regulated/certified software development experience - RTCA DO-178B/C preferred
Model Based Design Experience using Matlab/Simulink/Polyspace - preferred
Experience with Texas Instruments “SimpleLink” SDKs – preferred
Automated test environment experience - preferred
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
