The Mission Systems directorate is looking for an innovative Systems Engineer, with a passion for learning, to join the AE/GNSS Systems Engineering, Integration and Test team. The successful candidate will work with customers and leadership as well as internal software, hardware, and ASIC engineering teams to integrate antenna electronics products and navigation products together for airborne and ground applications. Our solutions keep the warfighter safe, connected and informed by providing accurate position, navigation and timing information in contested environments. You will be working in a dynamic team environment with engineers that share your passion for providing cutting edge solutions to today’s military.

Job Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of this position span all phases of system development including:

  • System-of-systems requirements development, analysis, and allocation

  • System-of-systems integration and verification testing;

  • Systems related documentation development

  • Coordination with internal systems, hardware, ASIC and software product design teams;

Collins Aerospace continues to build on a strong history of providing navigation equipment to meet the evolving needs of commercial and military users. Our navigation solutions provide enhanced situational awareness and pinpoint accuracy for airborne and surface missions. Leading the way in the GPS, nav fusion and radio navigation technology, our array of products and systems cover airborne, precision-guided munitions, ground handheld receivers and embedded applications. Our PNT systems are setting the stage to improve warfighter navigation abilities in challenged environments.

Basic Qualifications

The position requires the following:

  • US Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Good teamwork skills

  • A desire to participate on a results-oriented, System-of-Systems team

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Technical aptitude and professionalism

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • High level of motivation and self-direction

  • Ability to balance multiple tasks

If the applicant has any of the following, it would be a plus:

  • An understanding of system engineering processes

  • Prior experience in GPS and/or Antenna Electronics development

  • Experience with system requirements development & management

  • Experience with system integration and test

  • Experience with modeling languages such as UML, SysML, and DoDAF

  • Familiarity with Engineering Development tools like DOORS, Jama, Matlab, Enterprise Architect, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline (STEM degree preferred) by December 2019. In the absence of a degree, 4 years of experience is required.
