RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans and procedures

  • Provides technical guidance to leadership to ensure effective execution of EH&S Management System requirements

  • Serves as advocate for EH&S and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines

  • Coordinates with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices

  • Manages relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and UTC requirements

  • Support environmental, health and/or safety programs

  • Serves as a technical resource to Company in moderately complex areas of EH&S compliance, engineering, hazard communication, industrial hygiene and/or industrial safety

  • Conduct various health and safety assessments and make appropriate technical corrective action recommendations

  • Support incident management from investigation through corrective action implementation

  • Assist management in the recognition and control of hazards and risks

  • Conduct trend analysis for inspection/audits, injuries, spills, near hits and develop corrective/preventive actions to improve performance

  • Coordinate and conduct specialized Health and/or Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations in conjunction with others to monitor performance and assist the relevant line management to produce action plans to implement the necessary improvements

  • Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions

  • Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological, and chemical hazards

  • Trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee health and safety

  • Participates in OSHA and EPA inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying EHS measures

  • Performs other duties as required

In this role, you will also be required to:

  • Follow rules and policies of the company

  • Sit, stand, walk, reach, twist, climb, crouch, stoop & kneel and lift up to 25 pounds

  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed for 8 hours per day

Qualification:

  • At least 2 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role in a manufacturing environment, including experience for both environmental and safety domains

  • Influencing and negotiating skills

Education:

  • High School/GED
