We are looking to add a Staff Engineer to our team to support Geared Turbofan (GTF) programs for Aftermarket Technical Services (AMTS) in Chula Vista, CA. The Staff Engineer will be responsible for daily deliverables, coordination, support of product development while ensuring Aftermarket Customer and Commercial requirements for maintainability, tooling and parts support are achieved.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Management of product support requirements, deliverables, customer / supplier expectations, parts, tooling, technical data

  • Develop and maintain positive OE and supplier(s) relationships / perceptions through a commitment to a high level of engagement and effective use of standard or customized solutions to issues

  • Understand field problems / inquiries, deliver innovative and practical solutions to resolve technical issues affecting the Airlines, Engine Manufacturers and Airframe OEM's

  • Specific emphasis and responsibility on early identification of emerging issues in service that may lead to adverse reliability trends

  • Accurate data gathering, contributions on effective interventions to limit customer operational impacts while addressing issues through coordination and implementation of rapid corrective actions

  • Accurate / timely identification of reliability issues or product shortfalls and driving time sensitive corrective actions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills, motivation & team orientation.

  • Very strong written, verbal & listening skills.

  • Continuous Improvement or Process Improvement tool sets and methods

  • Strong bias for natural inclusion of continuous improvement tools and process in identification and resolution of issues.

  • Good understanding of the basic materials and processes used on our respective product groups

  • Good understanding of design (structures & systems)

  • General understanding of Stress & Repair development requirements

  • General knowledge of contracts and detailed specification expectations

  • General understanding of Aftermarket support manuals

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred is preferred.
