This position is within Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus, GA based Maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) organization.

A team member at this level is expected to be responsible for meeting the production schedule with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) support. You should be able to work from drawings, models, charts or specifications, use measurement instruments to check and verify own work and work of others. This position requires a mechanical and technical aptitude and an ability to follow work instructions. Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirement.

Duties:

  • You will perform Coordinate Measuring Machine operations on a variety of aerospace components

  • You will be responsible for maintaining the Total productive maintenance (TPM) and environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements of a Coordinate Measuring Machine equipment

  • You will be responsible to create CMM programs to support the shop function.

  • You will use creative troubleshooting skills to support the CMM Machine.

  • You will inspect engines, engine sections, accessories and component parts to determine serviceability and reparability.

  • You will be willing to obtain an inspection stamp

  • We participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement

Qualification:

Required qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED

  • Minimum of 1 year Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience or technical certificate

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred qualifications:

  • A&P license preferred

  • A strong manufacturing background and shop operations experience, and a desire to work with quality, engineering and operations on the shop floor preferred

  • Knowledge of inspection methods, process controls, understanding of Lean or Six Sigma tools is preferred.

  • A knowledge in Blueprint interpretation, Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T), Experience in an Aerospace manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Craft clear communication

  • Analytical Skills

  • Possess excellent judgement and professional maturity

  • Possess exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
