Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge Module Center business unit has an immediate opening for a Materials Planner on 1st Shift as a part of our Forgings Center of Excellence organization. The Materials Planner objective Perform diversified, technical duties of a complex nature in coordinating the activities of material management groups associated with a major program; or analytical duties to resolve complex and diversified problems related to materials management functions. This position will work out of our Columbus, GA facility and report to the Materials Manager.

We are looking for a motivated and high-energy individual to join our Materials team supporting the Columbus Forge Module Center.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical direction to material management groups in their analysis of data related to lead times, scheduling, inventory, and procurement of parts and material Oversee with Engineering, Purchasing, and other groups involved to resolve problems, and make special arrangements for unusual situations in order to meet program schedules and goals.

  • You will analyze and interpret complex or unusual engineering orders and changes, drawings, or other new/advanced methods and techniques, making recommendations to avoid problems or eliminate difficulties.

  • You will represent respective organization at various meetings to report on status of programs and participate in plans pertaining to new programs.

  • You will be responsible for the completion of Key Job Requirements and other tasks related to this position as assigned by cognizant management. Support ACE and continuous improvement.

Qualification:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Do you have strong interpersonal and communication skills?

  • You’ve completed a BS/BA with 4-7+ years experience preferred

  • You’ve completed a MS/MA with 2-5+ years experience preferred

  • You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and SAP

  • Flexibility around shifts for training and to maintain workflow, to include off shift

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time

Education:

Basic Qualifications:

  • You graduated with a High school diploma or GED.

  • You are a US Citizen.

  • You have at least 9 years of experience working in a Quality Engineering, Supply, or Operations role within a manufacturing facility.
