Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge Blades business is looking for a Clinic Technical Team Member (QA) to provide procedural and technical knowledge to Quality leadership and a large team of Quality Inspectors and Supervisors as required. Columbus Forge Blades (CFB) manufactures precision forged and machined airfoils for multiple commercial and military engine programs.

A team member at this level is expected to perform a wide variety of quality tools to include DIVEs using RRCA, cause and effect diagram, 8D analysis, etc. and related paperwork. Assist and drive QA activities within Quality Clinic; including but not limited to, maintaining the Quality Management System requirements, standard work, investigation of customer complaints and returns (SDOs), drive root cause investigation of scrap and rework activities, lead the non-conforming part process, work in the internal Corrective Action Request (CAR) system, become qualified as a visual inspector and support internal and external auditing as needed. Drive product and process improvements that ensure that the site’s quality metric goals are met (escapes, scrap, rework, process improvements). Occasional traveling required.

Duties:

  • You will work with team to develop policies, procedures, systems and a training plan to ensure quality requirements, quality enhancements and cost competitiveness are met.

  • You will maintain all Environmental Health and Safety requirements

  • You will support the quality clinic responsibilities through a systematic, disciplined approach to problem solving that targets zero defects for the manufacturing value stream to include suppliers.

  • Participate in the Escape Management Process for the assigned organization to include completing tasks to all SDO activities

  • You will oversee Customer Return Process for the assigned organization

  • You will participate problem resolution team (PRTs) for escapes and Relentless Root Cause (RRCA) teams for High pain organizational issues (Cost, delivery, quality, EH&S, etc.)

  • Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities.

  • You will read blue prints, understand CMM reports, use and read measurement gages

  • You will maintain Escape Metrics and Control Tower

  • Prepare written reports of assigned phases or advanced proposals or other technical evaluations.

  • You will continue to improve RCCA competency

Qualification:

Required qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts

  • 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft office Suite

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Engineering or science

  • 1-2 years quality manufacturing experience.

  • Project management experience

  • Experience Aerospace Manufacturing/Overhaul with airfoil experience

  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and specifications.

  • Good computer skills with MS Office programs specifically Excel and Word. The ability to learn new software quickly.

  • CMM use and knowledge

  • Good organizational skills and ability to plan and follow a project to completion.

  • Able to work in multiple projects simultaneously without missing deadlines and goals.

  • Craft clear communication

  • Analytical Skills

  • Creative troubleshooting skills

  • Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity

  • Possess exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
