Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge Blades (CFB) business unit has an immediate opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer as a part of our Forgings Center of Excellence organization. This position's objective is to ensure regulatory compliance to corporate policies and Quality requirements to ensure the production of compliant Pratt & Whitney products from internal and external suppliers. This position will work out of our Columbus, GA work with the Director of Supplier Quality.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • You maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as the company's Engineering and Procurement teams

  • You serve as a resolution focal point with engineering, customer service support, and operations to drive continuous improvement in products and processes

  • You collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and improvement opportunities

  • You require suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues

  • You coordinate quality issues with Pratt & Whitney Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components

  • You work with other partners to figure out proper disposition of nonconforming material for incoming receiving and at suppliers

  • You perform as an integrated team leader with engineering, customer service support, and operations to investigate and correct various quality issues related to potential product returns, supplier issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests with clear and concise reports to customers/suppliers

  • You participate on multi-functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership, with coaching and assistance by the Quality Manager

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

  • You've completed a graduate degree or MBA program

  • You have 5 or more years’ experience in a Supplier Quality role, and have a solid understanding of supplier performance management

  • You're certified auditor and an expert in aerospace quality standards including AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001

  • You can provide achievement stories of working through supplier quality issues to include Root Cause & Corrective Action, On-Time Delivery, Quality Escapes and Non-Conformances among other examples

  • Your background includes working with ACE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools with a consistent record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments

  • You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs

  • Familiarity with turbofan engines and airfoil/blade components preferred; Engineering experience a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Quality Engineering, Quality Manager or Supplier Quality Management role within a manufacturing facility

  • US Citizen due to program requirements
