As a Contamination Control Engineer you will be responsible for planning, defining and implementing Contamination Control in Design and Manufacturing to ensure design integrity and hardware robustness in direct alignment with customer’s expectations. You will work as a member of several integrated product teams and develop documentation/testing to show suitability to requirements. Your specific responsibilities include:
Work as a member of several Integrated Product Teams to implement Contamination Requirements which may include creation of Standardized Documentatin, Facility Level and Product Level Contamination Control Plans.
Focus on particulate and molecular/chemical contaminatin, chemical analysis and processes for Contaminatin Detection in an in-house Laboratory.
Execution appropriate Analysis, Processes and Procedures required to guide Optical Systems, EEE (Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical) components and Mechanical Assemblies/Structures through selection, specification generation, manufacturing and item qualification.
Maintain a working knowledge of Government and Industry specs and standards.
Create Presentations and Participates in Customer Meetings, Senior Staff Briefings and Quality Clinic activities for status and issue resolution.
Education / Certifications
This position requires a Bachelor's of Science degree in Materials Engineering topic area (Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Engineering.
Knowledge and 5-10 experience in Contamination Control Engineering in a space environment.
Ability to oversee and enforce cleanroom and controlled area requirements to ensure that all aspects of programs comply with contamination control and FOD prevention requirements.
Experience in the inspection, test and verification of cleanrooms, controlled areas and associated equipment against applicable requirements.
The ability to develop and maintain Contamination Control and FOD prevention training materials.
Due to government contract requirements, sole US Citizenship, and not dual citizenship with another country, is required.
