A housing stipend is offered to those who meet the eligibility requirements. Students are responsible for securing their own housing if needed.

This 2019 Spring Co-Op position begins in January, 2019 and runs through either May or August, 2019. (This is not a summer internship.)

Job Responsibilities

As a Facilities engineering Co-op, you will support the Danbury Facilities Department with:

  • Updating facilities layouts using AutoCAD 2013 verifying performing field word, updating and red lining drawings

  • Supporting the Facility Team with facilities construction projects regarding project management

  • Participating in continuous improvement activities

  • Supporting site administration and site security tasks

  • Supporting the Facility team with the following tasks:

  • Coordinate with multiple vendors simultaneously to ensure timely completion of facilities and site security projects

  • Coordinate with department managers and staff to ensure their facilities requirements are being met, both now and in the future

  • Coordinate the internal departmental service requests

  • Coordinate visits with vendors and maintenance staff into/out of building during working hours

Qualification:

  • Must be enrolled as a full time student preceding, and following, the co-op assignment

  • GPA of 3.0 or above is required at both the time of application and start date

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint

  • CAD Experience

  • Good teamwork and collaboration

  • Ability to work independently and learn in a fast paced environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Project Management experience is a plus

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in both office and lab environments

  • May be exposed to chemicals and solvents

  • Will be required to move up to 30 pounds

  • May spend some part of day outside on campus grounds

  • Must be able to access all parts of facility/campus; both inside and out

  • May be required to wear PPE in labs and clean rooms

Due to contract requirements, this position is only available to US Citizens (No Dual Citizenship)

Education:

You must be pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline; preferably Industrial, Civil, Mechanical or Construction Management. In addition you must have completed a minimum of 24 college credits.
