Job Description

The Mission and Vehicle Analysis group at Pratt & Whitney is at the forefront of advancing and optimizing next generation engine capability through joint aircraft and engine performance optimization, as well as engineering support to sales and marketing organizations. With the rapid advancement of next generation military and commercial platforms, Pratt & Whitney is seeking and developing engineering technical leaders with expertise in both aircraft and engine performance to advance the state of the art and make valuable contributions with these propulsion systems.

Join a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team of engineers leading the industry in aircraft and engine integration for new product and fielded product applications.

The range of responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis of military and/or commercial engine applications at different phases of engine development varying from conceptual design to end of service.

  • Analysis of flight mechanics with various engine configurations in multi-disciplinary optimization, engine usage evaluation to enable aftermarket decisions and pricing, and customer interface for engine problem resolution.

  • You will have a broad use of analytical methods for flight mechanics, engine cycle simulations, durability methods, statistical fleet forecasting, design optimization software, airline economic evaluation, and extensive databases for world-wide fleet operations.

  • Advanced military applications require developing and using multi-disciplinary optimization tools and methods for joint studies with airframe partners and defense services.

  • You will need to have learned or have a passion to learn aircraft performance and engine cycle performance to support a wide range of engineering analyses, simulation development, and application.

  • You should posess excellent written and oral communication skills to operate in a leadership capacity for technical problem resolution and engineering support to marketing and commercial strategies.
