Description:

Pratt &Whitney is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EH&S Manager to assist sites and staffs of multi-media EHS professionals serving the various Pratt & Whitney US campuses. This candidate will be responsible for aligning and leading EH&S support for multi-tenant sites including all operations and engineering units, medical and office-based personnel across individual site to identify and mitigate environmental, health, safety and compliance risks at a highly regulated and complex industrial site.

Provide administration of key Site EH&S Councils, including monthly safety data analysis and trending, and assure EHS staff is appropriately assigned to execute the EH&S management system program elements.

Collaborate with and influence individuals at all levels of a multi-tenant complex facility and be able to negotiate and interact with hourly employees.

Ensure key programs e.g. risk assessment, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, audits & inspections, hazardous waste, environmental permits, etc. are maintained to adequately identify and mitigate risk and provide a safe workplace.

Provide strong visible leadership of the EH&S team to deliver world class EH&S support to the business tenants on campus, including the resolution of safety complaints

Drive continuous improvement of EH&S through effective annual program evaluations and development of appropriate action plans aligned with business needs and overall P&W EH&S strategic roadmap.

Drive key Machine Guarding, risk assessment, ergonomics, noise reduction, contractor safety and environmental metric reduction initiatives.

Manage the development and updates of policies/procedures and standard work as required and necessary to provide direction to all businesses and customers regarding EHS requirements.

Lead the site EH&S organization in its continued ACE Journey by regular use of the ACE tools to drive continuous improvements and customer satisfaction.

Please note: This position may be located at any of our P&W Locations (East Hartford/Middletown CT/West Palm Beach, FL/ Columbus, GA/PWC/North Berwick, ME/Middletown, PA/Dallas, TX/Lansing, MI).

Qualification: 10years of EH&S management experience plus, including program and regulatory compliance experience in a large industrial factory setting with direct supervision of multiple professional EH&S employees

Candidates must have outstanding leadership, strategy, analytical, writing and verbal communication skills. The ability to provide high-level customer service and possess a high energy necessary to execute the requirements of this demanding position.

Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge and appreciation for facility and infrastructure risks and an understanding of how those risks impact safety and environmental regulatory compliance.

Education: BS Degree in Environment, Health and Safety or related technical field required and a minimum of 10 years experience or a MS/MBA preferred, as are recognized certifications, such as CHMM, CSP and a minimum of 8 years experience.
