Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Our Rapid Prototype Casting Lab in Materials and Processes Engineering is looking for a skilled logistics expert who will be responsible for the logistics of the workflow, resource planning, and data capture of operations. This will include:

  • Coordinating the customer need to ensure the appropriate allocation of resources while balancing the shop load to level load product flow based on resource requirements.

  • Monitoring inventory of raw material to maintain appropriate stock to support operations.

  • Coordinating with facility procurement to order new raw material as well as ensuring proper certification prior to the release to the shop.

  • Working with critical supply chain to monitor their processes to ensure consistent and predictable on-time delivery.

  • Optimizing internal systems to ensure visibility and transparency of workflow.

  • Focusing on the optimization of Solumina G7 workflow system.

  • Setting up a visual factory for workflow and delivery.

  • Focal point for digital factory implementation which includes data capture, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Working with UTC & P&W Digital Factory experts to evaluate and implement best practices in the casting lab.

  • 2nd Shift position

  • 10% travel

Qualification:

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in engineering/business with 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Production Planning and/or Digital Factory implementation OR

  • MS/MBA degree in engineering/business with 2+ years of experience in Logistics, Production Planning and/or Digital Factory implementation OR

  • An entry-level Ph.D. in engineering

  • US Citizen due to program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to interface among P&W engine demand, production planning, and workflow systems.

  • An eagerness to embrace digital factory transformation and implement into a manufacturing environment.

  • A background working in a dynamic environment with salary and hourly personnel to understand facility requirements and implement new systems to ensure product delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to evaluate manufacturing equipment to resolve the best method of data capture and analysis.

  • Excellent Judgment and professional maturity

  • A desire to build positive relationships and craft clear communication
