Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • You will need knowledge of tool manufacturing methods and procedures for the investment casting industry with a demonstrated history of implementing, maintaining and monitoring processes for casting products and compliance to quality assurance/control measures.

  • Hands-on developmental and manufacturing experience with investment casting equipment and processes Familiarity with Computer-aided Design (CAD) systems such as Unigraphics

  • The ability to effectively work in a hands-on laboratory environment with a diverse group of skilled operator (hourly) and professional (engineering) staff

  • Develop casting technology to advance the state-of-the-art as well as processes for advanced hardware.

  • Manufacture development components for engineering test and analysis and production hardware for flight engines.

  • Lead manufacturing cell process activities.

  • You will be the technical interface with internal and external suppliers as well as collaborating with Process Modeling personnel to optimize cast processes..

  • Use ACE tools to identify lead-time / cost reduction opportunities.

  • 2nd Shift role.

  • Travel 10%

Qualification:

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Engineering with 5+ years of Engineering experience in the aerospace or industrial gas turbine industry and Aerospace Metallurgy or Aerospace Ceramics OR

  • M.S. degree in Engineering with 2+ years of Engineering experience in the aerospace or industrial gas turbine industry and Aerospace Metallurgy or Aerospace Ceramics OR

  • Entry-level Ph.D. in Engineering

  • US Citizen due to program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S., MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Science

  • Understanding of investment cast tooling, injection, ceramic core fabrication, casting and inspection processes.

  • Knowledge of conventional, columnar, and single crystal cast product and processes as well as rapid prototype methods.

  • Desire to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Motivation to incorporate new ideas into practice.

  • Excellent Judgment and professional maturity

  • You should be able to create positive relationships and craft clear communication
