Commercial Engines develops, markets, sells and services Pratt & Whitney's portfolio of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engines, including the company's Geared Turbofan™ engine family. Commercial Engines include the Aftermarket business which maintains Pratt & Whitney and International Aero Engines (IAE) engines through a broad portfolio of maintenance, repair and overhaul services, material solutions and world class customer support. At the conclusion of the programs, graduates will be prepared to assume a key position in Commercial Engines.

The Entry-Into-Service (EIS) and Product Support organization was established in the P&W Commercial Engines Customer Service organization to support the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan™ (GTF) programs. The team leads readiness initiatives to ensure that airlines are prepared successfully to operate GTF-powered aircraft, and to operate and manage their fleets effectively in revenue service. The EIS and Product Support team has already supported GTF service entry with 40 operators on 3 different airframes, and continues to manage these fleets.

The EIS team is responsible for enabling a high quality EIS experience for all GTF customers by executing a readiness process that begins 18 months prior to a customer’s EIS. The team is a focal point for all Customer Fleet Directors / Field Offices throughout the readiness process.

The Product Support team provides centralized, airframe-specific, fleet-wide support for the GTF product line, and serves as a focal point between the Customer Support organization and the Program Management Office. The team engages with the airframer regarding fleet reliability, communications, and improvement plans, and is a key member of the Integrated Program Management Team.

Key projects & responsibilities - Deliverables for the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze feedback from internal and external stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities

  • Create and execute optimized process improvement plans, engaging support organizations as needed

  • Review current tools for updating or improvement

  • Generate customer communications and support plans to address in-service technical issues

  • Develop means to identify, measure, and assess risk areas in the service readiness process

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?

  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts .

  • You're in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering degree program.

  • Fields of study are: Rising sophomore or junior pursuing a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Operations, Business, Management or equivalent.

  • You are graduating between: May 2021 to May 2022

  • You will have at least 30 credits prior to starting your internship.

  • You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?

  • ​Interest in the Aerospace industry.

  • Exposure / experience in customer facing roles.

  • Strong project planning and execution skills.

  • Ability to influence without authority and coordinate deliverables across functional groups.

  • Background in continuous improvement and driving new initiatives.

  • Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint experience is expected.
