The Role The Commercial Spares & Material Solutions organization is a component of Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines business. The responsibilities of Commercial Spares & Material Solutions encompass new and serviceable spare (replacement) parts and providing standardized materials management tools and metrics for Pratt & Whitney's maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network/non-Pratt & Whitney repair services. Within the Commercial Spares & Material Solutions organization, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement by:

  • Leading Commercial Spares & Material Solutions to attain/sustain Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) continuous improvement operating system objectives.

  • Managing development of the United Technologies Corporation (UTC) ACE proficiency program and training plans for employees.

  • Liaising with the Pratt & Whitney ACE Office to ensure alignment with the overall business unit continuous improvement journey.

  • Coordinating/partnering with Pratt & Whitney’s ACE Office to complete quarterly ACE assessments and uncover opportunities for advancing continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assisting the Commercial Spares & Material Solutions organization in meeting Policy Deployment (business strategy deployment) objectives in 2018 and beyond.

  • Utilizing proprietary continuous improvement tools within Commercial Spares & Material Solutions to improve speed, efficiency, impact and maturity of processes, methods and capabilities.

  • Leading cross-functional teams to evaluate existing business/operations processes and ensure linkage to the company’s goals and improvement targets.

Qualification:

Required qualifications:

5+ years of continuous improvement experience in a business or operations environment

Preferred qualifications:

ACE Associate or other continuous improvement certification

A history of effectively influencing within a cross-functional environment to attain an outcome where "everybody wins” solutions

Aerospace industry experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a stem or business field of study with 5+ years of continuous improvement experience in a business or operations environment or a Master’s or other advanced degree in a stem or business field of study with 3+ years of continuous improvement experience in a business or operations environment.
