We have a rare opportunity for a talented Specialist, Partnership Program Cost Engineer to be based in E. Hartford, CT.

Collaboration Administration is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Commercial Engines partnership program management team. This position will provide an opportunity to work alongside a group of professional engineers and finance personnel in support of partnership contract administration. It will also allow for the opportunity to collaborate with a number of internal organizations including Partner Program Office, Engineering, Product Cost, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance and international partners that participate in P&W commercial engine programs. In this position, the Specialist, Partnership Program Cost Engineer will gain integral knowledge of existing engine programs and contracts, be involved in establishment, analysis and maintenance of engine Part Values (PV’s), and support contract administration of several programs at different stages of an engines program’s life cycle.

The Specialist, Partnership Program Cost Engineer will be involved in a number key activities including but not limited to:

  • Support the establishment, maintenance and reporting of PV’s for all commercial engine programs. This includes analyzing manufacturing and engineering bills of materials for engines, modules and parts; comparing similar parts across other engines; interacting with the manufacturing engineering, integrated program teams and manufacturing organizations; and providing recommendations on changes in PV’s while documenting supporting justifications.

  • Administer the PV system which crafts and houses the PV’s for commercial engine programs

  • Support Partner inquiries and work alongside the Partnership Program Office in administrating current partnership agreements

  • Prepare reports showing and explaining the key change drivers for engineering change impacts to the contractual engines PV’s. This involves collaborating with the Product Cost and Manufacturing Engineering teams.

  • Analyze PV change reports and summarize major contributors to an engines PV change impact and support presentations of these findings to internal personnel and partners.

  • Support the establishment and administration of PV’s for the geared turbofan programs

  • Be an active member of the PV systems development and integration team

  • Support compliance activities for new part PV’s across the systems and organizations involved in their valuation assessments

  • Maintain and improve our internal processes through use of the ACE operating system and personal competencies.

Qualification: Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated experience using engineering systems including MIMS, Solumina, Teamcenter, and/or Design For Manufacturing Assembly (DFMA) tool

  • 1+year of experience using SAP and Microsoft office software including Excel and Word

  • Experience working at an Aerospace company or other similarly complex engineering and manufacturing organization

  • Engineering or product cost background with an ability to interpret blueprints & engineering models

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently

  • Collaborative with strong written and oral communication skills

  • A desire to achieve results with analytical skills

  • Effective leadership with a demonstrated ability to execute tasks and projects through to completion

  • Strong ethical and customer focus abilities as well as a continuous improvement mentality with the desire to think and act creatively to improve processes and deliver excellence in customer service

Education: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering OR

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting with 5+ years of experience in managing engine cost and the impact to changes to an engine, module, or parts bills of materials and shop process routings
