The UTC Re-Empower Program is a return to work program that helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, improve leadership skills, and continue their professional journey.

The program consists of a 16-week comprehensive cohort assignment, which offers a rich and rewarding experience and mentorship for program participants transitioning back into the workforce after a 2+ year career break, for reasons such as childcare, eldercare, career path change, illness, retirement or other personal matters. Selected experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive mentoring to guide their return to work experience. Upon completion of the 16-week program, based on performance, Re-Empower participants may have an opportunity to convert to a full-time role.

The Winter 2019 Cohort of the UTC Re-Empower Program will run from January 29 – May 17, 2019.

To qualify for the UTC Re-Empower Program, candidates must meet both program and position requirements.

Program Qualifications:

Currently be on a break of at least two years or more

Have a minimum of five years of professional work experience

Have an interest in returning to work in a full-time position

Have an ability to attend the Re-Empower Program Orientation at UTC Headquarters in Farmington, CT on January 29 – 31, 2019

The F135 military engine program has an opportunity for a motivated, self-starting Unit and Depot Level Tech Writer.

Part of Military Customer Support & Services, you will support technical data authoring and logistics activities by performing the following:

  • Authoring and delivery of F135 Tech Data.

  • Working with the tech data supply base to meet aggressive program schedules. Delivery in accordance with cost, schedule, quality and technical performance requirements as agreed to by contract.

  • Routinely work with internal Customer Support Engineering and external customers to include the F-35 Joint Program Office, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Lockheed-Martin, and Rolls Royce.

  • Develop maintenance data procedures based on various forms of engineering source data.

  • Provide ongoing status to team lead on data development time lines.

  • Support maintenance data publishing process with involvement in data integrity check reviews and data error corrections, as well as quality review of publication modules.

  • Interface with customers as it pertains to maintenance data requirements

US Citizenship required due to Federal Contracts

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2+ years experience in engine maintenance/logistics, and/or Technical Writing Good understanding of the logistics support process, technical data, and associated deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or Technical Field

  • Good project and time management skills are essential.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to excel within a team environment. Candidate must have the ability to perform multiple projects of varied size and scope.

  • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal)

Education:

Bachelors Degree

Masters Degree Preferred but not required
