We have a rare opportunity for a General Manager, Aftermarket Operations role at our East Hartford, CT Campus.

East Hartford Repair Operations, a Pratt & Whitney facility located in East Hartford, CT is responsible for ensuring the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components to customers.

In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of MRO operations and delivery, and will work in conjunction with Quality, EHS, HR, ACE, Engineering, Materials, Customer Service, and Facilities in support of operations.

Maximize profit through shop efficiencies and responsible for the entire operational unit across functional areas, and will be accountable for budget, staffing, and operational results.

This is a key leadership role for the facility.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Achieve sales goals and EBIT targets

  • Develop capacity planning models for manpower and equipment while resolving any constraints

  • Solve technical problems including improvement of tools and fixtures, equipment failures, and manufacturing process problems

  • Drive productivity and on-time delivery (OTD)

  • Lead a team of Cell Leaders by providing leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building through effective communications

  • Support Continuous Improvement (ACE) efforts

  • Support all EH&S efforts and aligning with all applicable regulatory and company EHS rules

  • Support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed safety goals

  • Achieve cost of poor quality (COPQ) goals

  • Develop key personnel to maintain continued organizational strength and succession

  • Demonstrating ethical leadership and compliance

  • Support all employee survey efforts

  • Support diversity initiatives

  • You are a US Citizen due to government contracts.

  • Final grade is to be determined *

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Operations, or Production Management.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of 10 years experience in Operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience should include supervision of production workforce with proven leadership skills and experience, managing both hourly and salaried employees, as well as possessing leadership experience in a unionized environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry is strongly preferred.

  • You can demonstrate significant leadership experience in a unionized environment.

  • Experience in managing both hourly and salaried employees.

  • Proven P&L experience

  • Consistent track record of establishing and developing a company culture focused on positive employee relations, as well as demonstrated leadership experience, in a relevant role such as leading a production site.

  • Ability to represent the company in the local & regional community, developing political & community networks

  • You are results oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

  • You can demonstrate strong critical thinking, business judgment, innovation, and team building skills.

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP software applications.
