The GTF Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Operations team (East Hartford, CT) is chartered to ramp-up global engine overhaul and repair capability and capacity. Accelerating the expansion of repair suppliers, repair supplier readiness and capacity is a critical activity to support this initiative. To that end, we are looking to expand our core engineering team running industrialization projects across our repair station network and take responsibility for repair network readiness.

The Industrialization Project Management Engineer will support the ramp-up of global repair capability while optimizing the repair provider network to have the right technical capability and capacity to support the engine overhaul commitments. The position will work closely with a broad set of organizations and support the team with these key activities:

  • You are the PW focal point for GTF MRO partners and external suppliers to ensure production readiness across programs

  • You'll develop and execute optimal technical and production readiness plans

  • Provide technical support and guidance to assist repair facilities with new repair development processes and source qualification on various products and processes

  • Leverage multiple engineering disciplines and product development teams to support solutions to new distress modes

  • Help transition technology as applicable

  • Support capacity ramp at repair facilities

  • Establish and document applicable standard work, gated processes, and metrics

  • Ensure best practices are shared across MRO Repair Facilities

Qualification:

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?

  • You have 3 years of experience in engineering role supporting production and/or quality process within a manufacturing facility

  • You are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (required due to government contracts)

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)

How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?

  • 5 years of experience within an MRO repair station or aerospace manufacturing facility

  • 3 or more years' experience developing repair processes for aerospace components

  • Ability to travel is required domestically and internationally up to 30%.

  • You currently hold, or are have the ability to obtain, a valid US Passport

  • Experience with project management, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork, self-initiative and creative problem solving ability

  • You're familiar with Aerospace manufacturing or repair station process, capabilities and quality requirements.

  • You have a proven track record or leading multi-functional teams and projects with a background that includes working with ACE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools with a proven track record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments

  • You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs, SAP, Team Center and Solumina. Expert level use of Excel and data manipulation is strongly preferred

  • Dynamic problem solver with strong problem solving skills and the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas

  • Familiarity with turbofan engines and airfoil/blade components preferred; Engineering experience a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
