The Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) organization is responsible for the engineering activities for the Fan/Low Pressure Compressor and High Pressure Compressor modules across all of PW's military and commercial products. CSE is specifically looking for a highly motivated and disciplined individual, who is technically competent to be a Discipline Manager supporting a large module level team called a Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT).

The Project Discipline Manager is an integral part of the CSE leadership team and serves as the direct line supervisor for a team of project engineers. This supervisory position is part of the Next Generation Product Family Geared Turbofan CIPT leadership team, responsible for ensuring technical excellence, task execution, and product delivery of the Bombardier C- Series and Airbus A320 Neo engine Fan modules. This position is responsible for developing and sustaining hardware to meet or exceed module and system requirements and works collaboratively to solve problems with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and system design teams.

The Project Discipline Manager is responsible for all aspects of the design from a project engineering discipline perspective and ensures the successful execution of P&W's engineering process called Engineering Standard Work. This position requires an individual who is customer focused to support the team to meet aggressive program demands. Talent development and mentorship of the project engineers, advancement of the project discipline, and continuous improvement of project engineering tools and procedures are also critical responsibilities.

  • 12 years minimum experience in the development of gas turbine components; Experience in the development of fans or compressors preferred

  • Solid project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, EVMS, critical path schedule development and risk management required. Familiarity with P&W project management tools and procedures preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in the successful execution tasks to meet technical, schedule and budget requirements.

  • Previous experience in either development or production environment executing hardware deliveries

  • Capability to work and lead in collaboration with other non-collocated teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff. Previous supervisor and team leadership experience required.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and trending skills

  • Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • U.S. citizenship required

Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering; Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or MBA preferred. Knowledge in 6 Sigma process capability methodologies is highly desirable.
