Description:

The Externals/Ducts IPTL will provide project management and team leadership to one or more cross functional teams (IPT’s) made up of designers, structures engineers, product modeling & drawing staff and systems analysts. The IPT’s are tasked with integration, design, development and investigation of Externals and Bypass Ducts hardware and systems. This involves substantial project coordination with program chief engineers, program office, Customer Support engineers and suppliers.

Key tasks include driving design tasks/class 1 engineering changes to completion, addressing and driving resolution to emerging technical issues, resolving manufacturing issues in support of development testing, flight test, and new engine production and performing investigations into part failures or questions originating from the fielded fleet.

The IPT Leader will work with the CIPT to acquire and manage appropriate budget for the IPT’s tasks and may act as a Control Account Manager (CAM) for one or more control accounts. The IPT Leader will represent the IPT as the primary focal point to internal and external customers. Presentations to these customers including the CIPT leadership team and the Program Office are frequently required, providing exposure to various levels of leadership within UTC and the government customer(s).

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a BS Degree in an Engineering related discipline, preferably Mechanical or Aerospace

  • Must have at least 8+ years of related experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SAP and TeamCenter

  • Ability to manage a large group of engineers with a proven track record of delivering a quality product

  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the program and technical engineering community

  • Ability to develop solutions in alignment with P&W business goals and execute strategies for balancing and resolving conflicting priorities in order to meet commitments

  • Highly energetic, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement through using continuous improvement tools
