The position will consist of two primary responsibilities:

  1. International Trade Compliance (“ITC”) manager of the following support functions: Communications, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Finance, Group Strategy and Development (GSD), and Legal, Compliance & Contracts (LC&C) (collectively, “ITC Support Functions”)

  2. Non-U.S. international-trade control law specialist, focusing on, among other issues: import and export registrations, import and export authorizations, government reporting requirements, import taxes, and customs duties.

In the first role, represent ITC Support Functions, as required, in ITC initiatives led by ITC Legal organization and ensure that business-unit needs and requirements are sufficiently addressed in these initiatives and process improvement projects. Assist in the development, implementation, and management of export-compliance systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and import/export regulations. This includes contributing to the identification of compliance risks, conducting risk assessments, and assisting with the development of plans to eliminate and/or mitigate risks. Participate in ITC activities including: audits, internal investigations, corrective actions, communications, training, and implementation of key policies and procedures. Provide employees and customers of the ITC Support Functions with day-to-day guidance in trade-compliance subject-matter areas.

In the second role, work with ITC Legal organization to support business-unit needs and requirements with respect to non-U.S. international-trade control laws and regulations. Primary focus will be on those locations with P&W sites, suppliers, vendors, and customers.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience with U.S. international-trade control laws and regulations, including: Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

  • Bachelor Degree

  • US Citizen due to program requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.)

  • 3+ years’ experience with non-U.S. international-trade control laws and regulations, including those relating to import and export registrations, licensing, value added taxes, and customs duties

  • Providing legal analysis of non-U.S. international-trade control law

  • Identifying and mitigating non-U.S. compliance risks

  • Drafting legal memoranda

  • Working with outside counsel and advisors, as required

  • Theoretical and practical project management knowledge

  • Previous experience as a project manager

  • Strategic planning, risk management and/or change management

  • Critical thinking and problem solving

  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities

  • Conflict resolution experience

  • Adaptability able to perform in a fast-paced environment

  • Validated effective utilization of ACE/continuous improvement tools to drive process improvements

  • Strong technical and analytical skills

  • Craft clear communication

  • Creative troubleshooting skills

  • Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity

  • Multi-tasking abilities, have a client focus, adaptive, and work effectively in a time sensitive and dynamic environment

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
