Description:

Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is currently looking for an expert and highly-motivated Structures Engineer to join its team in support of commercial, military and industrial gas turbine engines doing CMC airfoil work. In this role, the Structures Engineer will be responsible for completing technical assessments and analyses necessary to support design, development, validation, production implementation and management of new and operational engines flying across the globe. You will work all hardware HSE owns including turbine airfoils, rotating hardware, and static structure. You will be an integral member of a team working tasks and challenging problems focused on engine safety, reliability, capability, robustness and affordability. You will be expected to lead small teams (including outsourcing) and team with others outside HSE. Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree and 2+ with a Master's degree.

US Citizen due to government contracts

Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in the aerospace industry

Advanced Degree in an Engineering discipline

Knowledge/Experience with Continuous Improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma, ACE, etc.

Specific experience designing and analyzing Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) components.

Specific experience supporting commercial, military and industrial gas turbine engines doing CMC airfoil work.
