Have you considered what it may be like to work at Pratt & Whitney? Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is currently looking for an experienced and highly-motivated Senior Structures Engineer to join its team in support of commercial, military and industrial gas turbine engines.

It is an exciting time at Pratt & Whitney and this is a unique opportunity for an expert individual to join a team working cutting-edge technologies on the best engines in the world. Available locations in East Hartford and West Palm Beach.

Major job responsibilities include:

  • Completing technical assessments and analyses necessary to support design, development, validation, production implementation and management of new and operational engines flying across the globe

  • You work all hardware HSE owns including turbine airfoils, rotating hardware, and static structure

  • You will be an integral member of a team working tasks and challenging problems focused on engine safety, reliability, capability, robustness and affordability

  • Will be expected to lead small teams (including outsourcing) and partner with others outside HSE

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years with a Master's degree

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creative troubleshooting skills

  • Able to craft clear communications

  • Computer skills- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project

  • Possess Excellent Judgement and professional maturity

  • Analytical Skills

  • Participate in Process Improvement efforts

  • Strong desire to succeed and pursue personal growth and developmental opportunities

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels throughout the organization

  • Knowledge/Experience in Continuous Improvement tools such as Lean Six Sigma, ACE, etc.
