SE-V is looking for a proactive candidate to fill the SEV Flight Test Manager position in East Hartford. The position requires planning and management of both the in-house and on-site teams deployed to all Pratt & Whitney flight test locations. The SEV Flight Test Manager is responsible for staffing all in-house & on-site positions, and managing their respective budgets to ensure respective support within financial & schedule constraints. For managing the in-house flight test team, technical knowledge of engine flight test is required to help resolve issues, mentor FTE’s in the group to expand their technical understanding, and ensure they integrate with the on-site flight test teams to help drive actions to closure. For managing the on-site flight test requirements, it is required to engage with the respective on-site Flight Test Managers to ensure needs are being met. Utilizing past experience to assist in mitigating on-site issues, understanding lessons learned, and passing along lessons learned to the Flight Test organization to expand overall knowledge. Responsibilities of this position include: • Interface with all support groups to ensure on-site locations are correctly staffed & communicate upcoming changes as needed • Maintain ownership of the flight test engineering budget and Support Program / Financial reviews as required • Understand on-site flight test technical issues and communicate out to the flight test organization for awareness & learning • Work to strategically expand the knowledge of the in-house and on-site flight test engineers • Lead 1:1 meetings with all direct reports and help mentor & coach as needed • Support the SEV Department Manager with any special assignments.

Qualification: Knowledge of engine ground test & flight test procedures along with previous supervisory experience is highly preferred. Experience in production or development engine planning is preferred. Candidate must possess excellent organization, communication and project management skills. Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Education: BS degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience.
