Description:

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced systems engineer or mechanical engineer for their Mechanical Systems organization to be the primary technical focal point for the lubrication and thermal management system (TMS) for PW gas turbine engine(s). Specific responsibilities include: • Executing steady-state and transient fluid and heat transfer analyses using PW-developed libraries in system-level analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB Simulink, Easy5). • Interfacing with other PW engineers in the bearings/seals, bearing compartment thermals, engine performance, ventilation, secondary flow, and controls and diagnostic systems groups. • Specifying engine validation test plans, reviewing engine and test rig data, and summarizing results in test reports. • Defining performance requirements for TMS components. • Summarizing system status to requirements for presentation at design reviews.

Qualification: Required Qualifications:

7+ years of engineering experience required with a Bachelor's degree and 4+ with a Master's degree

US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of heat exchangers, pumps, and internal flow modeling

Experience in system-level analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Dymola, Easy5)

Excellent written and oral communication skills • Prior team leadership experience desired Additional Comments:

Ability to obtain a security clearance is desirable.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering. Graduate-level degrees are preferred.
