The Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket Supply Chain (ASC) team is responsible for working closely with suppliers, partners, and internal engine centers across the globe to ensure the delivery of affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. Our team fosters an internal environment that thrives on utilization of the UTC ACE operating system, while coaching and supporting suppliers to ensure they meet our turn-around-time (TAT), KPI metrics, and achieve success in their Lean journey. Other responsibilities of the organization include driving on-time delivery (OTD), supplier health assessment, quality, TAT escalation processes for the entire aftermarket supply chain value stream. This role will support legacy commercial engines and GTF performance.

The Supplier Performance & Development Sr. Manager will be responsible to set up this brand new department. You will have to establish the organization, own Accenture support, OTD data, supplier performance reporting, escalation processes and supplier capacity. The position is also key to assist suppliers on achieving Supplier Gold level performance. Your function would involve setting up the organization to also provide training and coaching for new suppliers. Ability to assess cell design, capacity assessment, equipment maintenance, EH&S issues, and shop cleanliness. Supplier performance also works to improve the relationship between Pratt & Whitney and the supplier by improving the communications, minimizing the number of outside visits, catalyst for additional business opportunities, and reducing financial risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments of the suppliers capability to perform and sustain performance through the SHA (Supplier Health Assessment)

  • Engage with the supplier to develop action plan (SCIP) to close the gaps between current state and Gold level performance.

  • Track SCIP and drive closure to reach gold level

  • Conduct training and mentoring on-site at the supplier to develop their team

  • Follow-up with the commodity management and account management on any turnbacks or supplier performance.

  • Establish leading indicators of performance and track weekly, on-site at supplier

  • Intervene as required to expedite deliveries and/or resolve quality issues

  • Travel 20% to 30%

Qualification:

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?

  • You've obtained an Undergraduate Degree

  • US Citizen is required due to government contracts

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in Supplier Performance, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, Operations or Quality Management role within a manufacturing facility required

How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?

  • MBA or graduate degree in any of the defined preferred fields

  • You have over 10 years' experience working with an Aerospace component manufacturing, MRO repair station or Forging environment with direct experience in Performance Improvement function and ACE Gold Achievement standards

  • ACE Practitioner, Six-Sigma Black-Belt, Lean Manufacturing, Continuos Improvement or equivalent certification, training or work experience.

  • Hands on experience with strong structured project management and problem solving skills

  • Ability to initiate, lead and sustain change activities at the supplier including conducting trainings on the use of ACE or Lean tools preferably with Shop Floor Management (ie. Value Stream Management, Cell Layout Design, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance, and Root-Cause & Corrective-Action)

  • You have a proven track record or leading multi-functional teams and projects with a background that includes working with ACE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools with a proven track record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments

  • You are comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs, SAP, Team Center and Solumina

  • Dynamic problem solver with strong problem solving skills and the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas

  • Familiarity with turbofan engines and airfoil/blade components preferred; Engineering experience a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred fields include Engineering, Supply Chain or Business Management

  • MBA or Master's degree preferred
