Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The Fans Module Center Supplier Quality team is responsible for working closely with our suppliers to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will provide support to the Global Supply Chain organization relative to improvement of Suppliers' Quality, as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers.

  • Understand key aspects of managing and assuring supplier Quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery and service while acting as the primary Quality Engineer on a limited number of suppliers

  • Maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering and Procurement teams

  • Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous improvement initiatives at the supplier in reaction to escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time

  • Require and coach suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues

  • Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components

  • Team with Engineering and Procurement to execute the supply base improvement plans to improve quality signature and ensure customer confidence Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews

  • Travel up to 20%

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering or other technical field of study preferred

  • 5+ years Quality Engineering experience in aerospace, engineering and/or manufacturing)

  • 2+ years of experience with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems

  • US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detail and results oriented with good problem solving skills

  • Ability to meet commitments, balance and resolve conflicting priorities

  • Understands strategic and business implications and works to provide best P&W solutions

  • High energy, dynamic individual who strives for continuous improvement

  • Reputation for exceptional project management skills

  • Creative

  • Excellent Judgment and professional maturity

  • Ability to create positive relationships and craft clear communication

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements

  • Demonstrated skills in driving CAR and PAR and eliminating non-conformance at the supplier level

  • Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience or other Lean Systems experience a plus

  • Experience in metals/non-metallic or composites manufacturing and or testing a plus

  • ASQ certifications a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization
