Have you considered what it may be like to work at Pratt & Whitney? The Fans Module Center Supplier Quality team has an exciting opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer. This team is responsible for working closely with our suppliers to ensure we deliver affordable, high-quality parts that meet our customer's dynamic needs. A major focus of this role is to provide support to the Global Supply Chain organization relative to improvement of suppliers' Quality as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers. Major job responsibilities include (while not limited to):

Understand key aspects of managing and assuring supplier Quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery and service while acting as the primary Quality Engineer on a limited number of suppliers Maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering and Procurement teams Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous improvement initiatives at the supplier in reaction to escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time Require and coach suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components Team with Engineering and Procurement to execute the supply base improvement plans to improve quality signature and ensure customer confidence Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Aerospace and/or Engineering fields

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9000 quality systems

  • Creative troubleshooting skills

  • Able to craft clear communications

  • Computer skills- Proficient in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Project

  • Possess Excellent Judgement and professional maturity

  • Analytical Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization

  • Excellent leadership, prioritization, project management and multi-tasking skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements

  • Demonstrated skills in driving CAR and PAR and eliminating non-conformance at the supplier level

  • Practical ACE/Six Sigma experience or other Lean Systems experience a plus

  • Experience in metals/non-metallic or composites manufacturing and or testing a plus

  • ASQ certifications a plus

  • A highly motivated self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities
