Have you considered what it may be like to work at Pratt & Whitney? We have a rare opportunity for a talented User Experience/Centric Design Specialist to be based in E.Hartford, CT.

You will use Agile and User Centric methodologies to collaborate in order to capture enhancements and efficiency benefits to improve various processes and business applications.

You will:

  • Work with internal and external customers assessing processes and business needs.

  • Drive the initial phases of the design process, including product strategy and innovation, user research and discovery, usability metrics, analysis and insights, and conceptual and low-fidelity design and high-fidelity prototypes.

  • Present work to product and engineering teams and facilitate feedback.

  • Engage with users, converting their feedback into effective user experience changes

  • Proactively assess and recommend improvements to the user experience.

  • Advocate for usability, design and innovation within the organization.

10% travel is anticipated

Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in UX, Web Development, Computer Science, or Information Technology

  • 3+ years of experience

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying principles of Behavior Psychology, Persuasive Design and UX Design to conduct deep rooted research, develop new ideas and ensure that ideas are based on customer needs to craft intuitive and empathetic experiences.

  • Knowledge and experience in Design Thinking, research methodologies and application of social science theories to further design research.

  • Experience documenting relevant to the UI design process (wireframes, information flows, page schematics, etc.)

  • Experience with Responsive design patterns and designing mobile sites and apps

  • Advanced capability in using design software, such as Adobe CS

  • Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS and the ability to code front-end user interfaces

  • Expertise with prototyping tools like InVision or Axure, and design tools like Sketch and Photoshop, MS-Visio.
