The Project Manager is responsible for leading the team to successfully execute the implementation of assigned projects. The project team can consist of one or more members, and may be from various departments. Responsible for execution of assigned projects by managing tasks associated with project planning, risk management, scheduling, and intra-departmental communication / planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Project Manager (PM) will manage OEM programs.

  • The Project Manager has direct accountability for the success of OEM product line program(s) as measured in all terms and requirements of the applicable contract, by profitability/cost expectations set by the Program Manager and by the measure of customer satisfaction.

  • The Project Manager manages and coordinates the activities of all assigned customer service representatives (CSRs).

  • Leadership responsibility through all phases of the program management process, specifically ensuring the team achieves all deliverable outputs

  • Has overall responsibility for program leadership, execution and customer contact for assigned OEM programs. Successfully manage program requirements within schedule and budget.

  • Collaborate with a variety of functional areas inside and outside the organization to deliver program results responsive to internal and external customer requirements. Interprets, executes and establishes operating policies and processes. Responsible for meeting the program objectives such as technical performance, non-recurring cost, recurring cost targets, P/L, inventory and risk management and manage program compliance.

  • Conducts periodic internal and customer reviews

  • Drives the Collins Aerospace Mission and Operating Principles by modeling the Four Gears and driving the Interiors Mission, Vision, Values and Legacies

  • Ensures compliance to all applicable policies, laws, rules and regulations.

  • Ensures employee safety through the continued education and discussion of the Cardinal Rules for EH&S and Quality

  • Responsible for explaining company policies and regulations to subordinate groups.

  • Applies the Corporate Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and implements effective affirmative actions to assist the company in the attainment of goals and objectives

  • Perform other related duties as requirements develop.

  • Ensure compliance with Collins Aerospace EHS and Ethical Policies and with Federal, State and local laws

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required BA/BS degree w/5+ years experience OR MA/MS degree w/3+ years experience

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Program Management or Project Management role required

  • Must have demonstrated the ability to strategically organize and complete projects, tasks and business objectives

  • Ability to motivate

  • Capable of driving issues through to completion

  • Experience of leading change & process improvements

  • Experienced in leading cross functional teams through project closure

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and written at all levels internally and externally.

  • Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and teaming attitude.

  • Strong continuous improvement skills and customer focus.

  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Strong computer skills, (SAP, Office and Visual Manufacturing)
