Description:

United Technology Corporation is in the process of implementing Workday as the global Human Resource system and ADP as the global payroll provider. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of the global HR transformation. The rollouts commenced in 2014 and will continue through 2021. The successful individual will be the conversions architect and lead for the global HR/Payroll projects, responsible for driving and executing Workday conversions across various countries. This will require working with a core team of conversions resources from our implementation partners, and coordinating the conversion requirements across HR & Payroll. Given the centralized nature of the conversions team, the role will need to partner with the various teams and functions– HR, Payroll, Compensation, and various parts of the Digital Technology organization.

Key responsibilities are:

  • Architect and implement a UTC conversion solution for Workday/ADP implementations that is robust, sustainable, portable and flexible. Reduce reliance on externally provided conversion tools.

  • Identify opportunities in the overall project methodology for technical or process improvements to facilitate mistake proofed data quality.

  • Oversee the Workday/ADP conversion schedule across countries. Communicate and work with HR, Payroll and Digital leadership teams accordingly to manage resource and system constraints, while supporting the project timeline goals.

  • In addition to process and system improvements, develop strong relationships with other members of the HR Digital team, and the HR and Payroll teams to facilitate data conversion deliverables.

  • Provide innovative technology solutions for the overall system landscape & architecture.

  • Develop Workday functional, technical and conversion expertise.

  • Work with ADP, Workday and other partners to explore additional opportunities/value that can be provided to UTC through investments already made. Drive UTC needs into their product design.

  • Develop a flexible and sustainable pre-validation data conversion and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) creation tool.

  • Facilitate on-the-job training and coach conversion team members in inbound EIB creation, configuration, and data validation processes.

  • Develop synergies with the integrations team and leverage/influence common interface methodologies, mappings, and configurations.

Streamline and simplify the conversions process to provide more flexibility in the Workday deployment schedule.

Lead the training curriculum for upskilling the team’s proficiency with EIB creation, configuration and dat validation processes.

Qualification:

  • Ability to work in a highly matrix organization and lead project team members and vendors to meet the conversion timelines and deliverables.

  • Proven experience and comfortable in managing multiple priorities and relationships with stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet critical business needs and timelines.

  • Deep technical capability and ability to drive technical conversations and change aligned with project and digital technology goals.

  • Action oriented and results driven with an ability to drive new and innovative solutions in alignment to the organizations / functions strategy.

  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate with multiple levels in the organization. Speak to conversion and data at the lowest level of detail and also summarize for leadership consumption and action.

  • Workday and/or conversion experience on large system implementations is preferred.

  • Workday certification in Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).

  • Workday certification in Human Capital Management (HCM) Services, and industry experience building configuration.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related business discipline(s) with 4-8 years of experience.
