Description:

The Director of Digital Technology for Operations will be tasked with the following:

  • Act as an integrated partner and build functional alignment with the senior executives for the operations organization.

  • Provide oversight and leadership in driving advancements in Industry 4.0.

  • Work with the operations function to create a strategic roadmap which enables their business goals and objectives while leveraging new and enabling digital technologies.

  • Provide support and leadership in working key digital technology initiatives driven from the quality, supply chain management and manufacturing councils at UTC.

  • Be a thoughtful leader and technology evangelist. Analyze industry, market and technology trends and forecast impacts on the enterprise strategy and areas to implement these technologies within operations, and potentially more broadly across UTC.

  • Create an organization and teams to ensure flawless execution of the strategic roadmaps with a focus on value and return on investment.

  • Establish a culture based on leadership development with a focus on enabling employees to “lean-in”, embracing stretch goals and improving themselves both personally and professionally.

Qualification:

  • Breadth and depth of knowledge of relevant technology landscape, including modern manufacturing, supply chain and quality tools & applications.

  • Existing professional network of relationships with many of the above technology vendors

  • Demonstrated Industry 4.0 experience and results at a relevant industrial manufacturing company.

  • Experience with integration of complex manufacturing environments.

  • Action oriented and results driven with an ability to drive new and innovative solutions in alignment to the organizations / functions strategy.

  • Ability to clearly and succinctly communicate with key business partners, including senior executives, is critical.

  • Successful track record in managing digital technologies for innovation focused on operations – including manufacturing, supply chain and quality.

  • Strong technical background with practical experience in the areas digital technologies and related infrastructures (i.e. cloud, mobility…)

  • Successful track record in deploying best-in-class practices in cyber security, credentialing, data loss prevention.

  • Maintain exceptional leadership skills – Ability to recruit, motivate, evaluate and retain top digital talent.

  • Be decisive and results oriented with a track record in designing and executing solutions.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in information technologies, preferably computer science or related field with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of operations.
