About This Position:
We have an opportunity for career-minded individual to assume the Director of Holding Company and Treasury Accounting role within the Controller’s organization in Farmington, CT location. Our organization offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to be part of a growing accounting department and develop global processes to sustain flexibility as the business needs change. Job responsibilities subject to change based upon alignment of processes within the organization.
Primary responsibilities include:
Overall responsibility for:
Holding company accounting
Work with Tax and Treasury to develop and implement strategic Corporate initiatives
Assist BU’s with Treasury matters including hedge accounting and other technical accounting consultation
Governance around Corporate holding companies
Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing functions in order to support periodic financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP/IFRS/Local GAAP
Ensure integrity of financial information which spans over multiple entities (domestic and foreign) in multiple currencies
Act as liaison with Tax and Treasury departments
Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements relating to the monthly financial reporting cycle and produce monthly financial results
Establish and execute a monthly Balance Sheet review process ensuring appropriate support, documentation and compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies
Manage the independent accountants audit relating to statutory reporting including global impairment analysis
Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and local government statutory reporting requirements
Coordinate foreign currency requirements with Treasury group to facilitate company hedging activities
Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree required - Preferred fields Accounting or Finance
CPA preferred but not required
Master's Degree in Accounting or MBA a plus
10+ years of corporate holding, treasury and tax accounting experience multinational corporation along with strong understanding of the following subject matter areas and associated processes:
Holding company accounting
You hold a Bachelor's degree
You are a US Citizen or US person (green card holder)
Experience in consolidation, foreign exchange and tax accounting and ability to understand strategic goals of each
Ability to understand complex domestic and international accounting rules (e.g. GAAP/IFRS, ramifications on systems and process, etc.)
Experience leading teams, particularly through tight monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines
Candidate should possess strong leadership skills including the ability to recruit, motivate, evaluate and retain top talent, as well as strong communications skills to manage a decentralized workforce
Expert level use of Excel, generating pivot tables, V-lookups and using other advanced functions
Expert level understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Advanced user experience working with Microsoft Office applications, SAP and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), preferred
Quantitative analytical skills including ability to review and analyze financial reports
