The Farmington, CT based International Payroll Compliance Manager will be responsible for the oversight and governance of global payroll processes and related assignment services for the international assignee population. The position will focus on working very closely with various internal/ external stakeholders and Business Partners to manage global payroll/ compensation administration and support. This position requires a strong understanding of global mobility payroll policies and assignment packages, including international payroll, assignee compensation package reviews, cost analysis, year-end reporting and global compliance. This position ensures contracted services from designated vendors are delivered timely, accurately, and with high quality. Strong networking skills are necessary to effectively collaborate with vendor points of contact and key internal business partners around the globe. As the International Payroll Compliance Manager, this role will assist in educating local, regional, and global associates about the requirements for processing pay for International Assignees along with functional systems usage. This is a highly visible role and will serve as an active participant in International payroll initiatives that will impact UTC’s future state shared services model in an effective and scalable manner. Providing world class customer service to this specialized population is required with every interaction.

  • Serve as a global payroll and assignment administration subject matter expert including the areas of systems, policy, and governance.

  • Partner with key global vendors and assigned business partners to provide strategic and tactical direction.

  • Participate as subject matter expert in an ongoing phased rollout of international payroll to 60+ countries.

  • Act as point of escalation for assigned business segments.

  • Manage issue resolution process with key stakeholders.

  • Support assignee processes within global payroll, benefits, payroll, finance controls, legal and tax to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

  • Ensure superior customer service with a strong emphasis on internal and external customer relations and client service excellence.

  • Develop and improve operational processes; responsible for detailed review of existing processes and development of new standard work and process maps.

  • Partner with 3rd party vendors and internal subject matter experts on process design, technology build and roll-out of global payroll and compensation solutions.

  • Provide project management support to a number of global payroll and policy deliverables.

  • Manage and audit international payroll, compensation, benefits, year-end global costs reconciliation and tax reporting.

Qualification:

Minimum of five years global payroll/ compensation and assignee administration experience preferably in a large corporation or outsourced/BPO environment

  • Vendor management experience is required

  • International Assignment and payroll reporting experience preferred

  • Process improvement methodologies is a plus

  • Project or transformation experience strongly desired

  • Excellent reporting, analytical skills and systems analysis capabilities

  • Additional Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Demonstrated capability to work across functions/organizations

  • Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple responsibilities

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Team Player

  • Some Travel is required (5%)

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business, or equivalent required
