About This Position:
We have a Senior Manager opportunity in Equity and Operations Accounting . This role is based in Farmington, CT and will report to the Director of Accounting and Controllership
Primary responsibilities include:
Manage the accounting for the UTC stock based compensation process, including analysis of annual companywide issuance of equity grants, monthly outstanding shares reconciliation and preparation of the 10K footnote disclosure
Manage quarterly dividend payment process
Perform common stock share reconciliation
Assist in developing the 10K equity footnote
Develop annual plan schedules for all accounting processes managed by the group (stock compensation, pension, ESOP, COLI, IC/PIP)
Support quarterly financial reporting tasks
Perform month end close process, including complete monthly task list and load general ledger to HFM
Calculate and prepare journal entries ensuring that all standard entries have been recorded as required
Perform account reconciliations in ARMS
Assist in the monthly forecasting process, coordinating closely with functional departments and Corporate FP&A
Support SOX activities covering processes managed
Special projects as required by the Corporate Controller’s Group
Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree required - Preferred fields Accounting or Finance
Master's Degree in Accounting or MBA a plus
6+ years of technical accounting experience (preferably in stock based compensation accounting)
You hold a Bachelor's degree
US Citizen or US person (green card holder) status required
Experience in consolidation, foreign exchange and tax accounting and ability to understand strategic goals of each
Advanced level understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), SSARS and SOX compliance
SAP and Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), preferred
Advanced user experience working with Microsoft Office applications, with expert leve use of Excel, generating pivot tables, V-lookups and using other advanced functions
Quantitative analytical skills including ability to review and analyze financial reports
Candidate should possess strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of Controller's Dept. and other (Treasury, Employee Benefits) staff and management
