Carrier is seeking a lead mechanical engineer -or equivalent- to lead transformational and disruptive technology development for Carrier HVAC&R businesses. The position will be located in Farmington, CT, USA.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Work with senior leadership for create and maintain corporate roadmaps for advanced non-traditional systems to deliver HVAC&R functionality.
Create and use modeling and simulation tools leading to the evaluation of novel/disruptive HVAC&R systems
Design test rigs and experimental facilities leading to the evaluation of novel HVAC&R systems
Perform experimental work and experimental designs leading to the evaluation of novel HVAC&R systems
Ability to perform well working in teams and organize/lead teams, mentor team members
In the longer term, the candidate will be capable of directing the multidisciplinary team members and coordinating Carrier and non-Carrier team members
Demonstrated leadership in engaging internal and external customers is preferable. Business development experienced and networking is preferable.
Develop preliminary cost estimates and coordinate development of preliminary business case to determine project feasibility and priorities
Develop standard work for design and development of new technologies as part of technology transfer to technology team and business unit teams
Perform analytical and experimental analysis of flammability characteristics of materials for Carrier cooling and heating product.
- BS, MS, PHD in Mechanical engineering –or related field- preferred. 10+ years of experience preferred.
