Get onboard the UTC Aerospace Operations and Supply Chain team and play a part in managing our innovative products from inception to delivery. Operations and Supply Chain employees have the opportunity to network across our businesses and functions, all while improving the productivity, quality and efficiency of our operations worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work within prescribed technical parameters, having advanced knowledge of technical data and Federal Aviation Regulations.

  • Perform receiving / first article and conformity inspections.

  • Inspect parts and materials in accordance with specifications, inspection repair record (IRR), standard repairs and purchase orders.

  • Perform final and in-process inspection activities as well as periodic inspections on major tools and master gauges to identify general wear/rework requirements.

  • Receive goods and verify items against certifications and purchase order.

  • Record received items, including entry on manual logs for customer furnished parts according to established system procedures.

  • Assist with labeling of parts according to procedures with shelf life if required, purchase order number, batch input data on quarantine log, process SAP transactions, update excel files for receiving problems, issues and opportunities and work hot list to insure hot parts are processed in a timely manner.

  • File certifications received with parts.

  • Place rejected items in quarantine crib and communicate required actions to co-workers and management.

  • Investigate customer concerns to evaluate corrective/preventive measures per company, customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Inspect repaired components and approve for return to service.

  • Develop/analyze planning, data planning, analyze data, develop bills of material, develop special repairs, perform systems input of data and provide liaison coverage to other departments on technical issues.

  • Develop proposals for customers on specific programs, quote job tasks and provide labor hour estimates.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years of age or older.

  • 1.5 years experience in an overhaul and repair environment.

  • Must hold either an A&P license or an FAA Airframe Certificate OR be eligible for an FAA Repairman Certificate.

  • If A & P License has been obtained, must be able to verify license is current and in good standing.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of maintenance repair and overhaul, inspection practice and procedure in the field of aircraft repair, assembly, installation, NDI testing, interchangeability checks, company audits and support.

  • Must have knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations, Repair Station Manual, AS9100, quality methods & policies, engineering procedures and CI techniques.

  • Must have verifiable knowledge of shop planning, design & performance methods, inspections, necessary document control and basic understanding of special repair processes.

  • May be required to pass annual certification test verifying ability to operate machinery, equipment, forklift, overhead crane, sealant and torque.

  • Must meet the vision requirements outlined in EEP1009.

  • Read, write, speak and understand work instructions both verbal and written, perform shop math calculations, including decimals and fractions and conduct self-inspection / audit.

  • Willing and able to work varying shifts, including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and overtime as required.

Education:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
