The Fort Worth, TX site is a military landing gear assembly site.

This position is responsible for managing the production workforce and manufacturing engineering team. The position is responsible for delivering on planned daily production rates and meeting customer output requirements in an operations environment. The manufacturing engineering group is expected to deliver technical floor support, maintenance of procedures, and manufacturing engineering improvements to support business objectives. Incumbent must be proficient in the use of PC and applicable software applications, a strong communicator able to work with people and produce results in a fast paced, highly collaborative work environment. Incumbent will work with all levels of management to ensure that production activities are aligned to achieve established goals for productivity, quality, costs and delivery performance. The incumbent in this position will exercise judgment and discretion in determining ways to effect quality and productivity in his/her area of responsibility. Position reports to the site general manager with accountability to ensure the enhancement of production through the effective use of resources and labor provided for the respective assembly area. Experience working with military aerospace products, procedures, and specifications to ensure product integrity and quality is highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for process development, line design and incorporation of safety into daily tasks, procedures and processes.

  • Manages daily production rate and coordinates staffing and priorities with shop leads and production control.

  • Provides input for capacity model and ensures adequate staffing levels, training, cross-training, and skillets are maintained.

  • Manages overall line metrics including performance to TAKT, efficiency, utilization and productivity.

  • Addresses opportunities to improve first pass yield and eliminate interruptions in line flow.

  • Ensures real time problem resolution for issues.

  • Participates in and leads continuous improvement events to improve safety, quality, and eliminate waste.

  • Oversees operations budget and responsible for purchasing and managing indirect materials.

  • Manages improvement projects and oversees projects managed by the manufacturing engineering group.

  • Develops and implements methods to improve process capability and throughput.

  • Responsible for work in process inventory and implementation of reduction opportunities.

  • Ensures process integrity through development and maintenance of accurate process documentation.

  • Responsible for development and implementation of processes and procedures to support new and existing production and testing requirements.

  • Adheres to military specifications and requirements.

  • Participates in strategic, budget, and capital planning.

  • Develops and delivers communication to include presentations to multiple levels in the organization.

  • Conducts employee performance assessments and makes recommendations regarding the movement of personnel; works with HR to ensure timely, consistent, and impartial discipline is administered when necessary.

  • Tasked with maintaining succession plans and providing input for salary planning.

  • Maintains the highest ethical standards at all times and works to maintain a positive working environment and strong culture.

Qualification:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience/Qualifications Minimum of 3 + years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Work experience should include supervision of production workforce in manufacturing, engineering, and/or quality control operations

  • Proven leadership skills and experience

  • Results oriented with ability to multi task and handle deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of manufacturing manager experience required OR

  • Master's degree with 2+ years of manufacturing manager experience preferred
