Our Landing Systems Business Unit designs, tests and manufactures a wide range of fully integrated landing systems. As part of Landing Systems, our Landing Gear business is one of the largest suppliers of integrated landing gear systems in the world and has built its reputation on performance and innovation. The company provides landing gear for a wide range of commercial, regional, military and business aircraft applications, outfitting aircraft from most of the world’s major air-framers.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Materials Manager at our Landing Gear facility in Fort Worth, Texas. The functional responsibilities include Shipping, Receiving, material movement, and Cycle Counting. Additional responsibilities include Master and Finite Scheduling, Capacity Planning and Production Control as well as Kitting of all material. The Materials Manager shall be required to implement, maintain, measure and track Central Landing Systems and site Materials Management initiatives to include but not limited to Lineback Logistics and Inventory reduction. The Materials Manager shall be responsible for implementing, tracking, measuring and reporting all required site and Central Landing Systems key performance metrics. In addition the Materials Manager shall conduct root cause analysis and generate mitigation plans for metrics that are not meeting target.

The Materials Manager shall ensure that all Central Landing Systems Materials Management and all site policies and procedures are developed, implemented and adhered to. Additional responsibilities include driving change in process and procedures through the use of Continuous Improvement to meet expected corporate inventory objectives.

The Materials Manager shall coach and develop Material Management resources, including monitoring workflow and efficiency, evaluating performance, performing annual reviews, providing skill development and training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Master Production Schedule (MPS) plans are developed and the importance of master scheduling is reflected in the organization and communicated with a focus on delivery and inventory control

  • Capacity plan is developed, maintained and reviewed monthly with Operations to ensure a valid master schedule is developed in support of customer demand and forecast

  • Weekly scheduling meetings are conducted by the Master Scheduler with functional representation

  • Responsible for ensuring daily production schedule is developed, communicated and implemented in support of meeting on time customer delivery

  • Ramp up/down analysis, based on capacity availability, is conducted in a timely manner in support of engineering changes and executed with a goal of minimizing obsolete and slow moving materials

  • Manage Receiving, put-away and Kitting areas to ensure timely and accurate receipts, put-away and issuance to the shop floor and to maintain and ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Inbound / outbound freight Logistics strategy is optimized and implemented, as required

  • Shipments are completed in a timely manner in support of customer requirements

  • Cycle counting is conducted and monthly reporting of metrics are completed and distributed; supports annual physical inventories, as required

  • On-demand cycle counts are completed in a timely manner

  • Slow moving and obsolete reserves are estimated and provided to Finance

  • Systemic supplier related issues impacting the build plan are elevated within the site Procurement function and Supply Chain Commodity Management, as required

  • Ensure maintenance of item master is conducted per policy

  • Track and report key performance indicators and proactively identify appropriate actions to close gaps and to drive continuous improvement

  • Maintain and ensure budgets for Materials Management department

  • Participate in activities to include 5S, Kaizen, DIVE events, Six Sigma, and other related continuous improvement events.

  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.

  • Continuously drive 5S culture within the Materials Organization

  • Support achievement of ACE Gold activities, as required

  • Execute all tasks associated with the site macro plan objectives and site business plan, as required

  • Ability to conduct in-depth analysis resulting in development and execution of action plans for improvement

  • Proven leadership skills that have resulted in improved metrics and overall efficiency

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Qualification: Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years Material’s Management experience in a manufacturing industry

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • SAP experience required

  • Ability to conduct in-depth analysis resulting in development and execution of action plans for improvement

  • Proven leadership skills that have resulted in improved metrics and overall efficiency

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred:

  • BS degree in Logistics or Materials Management

  • MS degree in Business/Logistics/Materials Management

  • APICs CPIM Certification
