ISRSS in Houston is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Quality Engineer whose primary responsibilities are to provide Quality Engineering to our engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams, in the areas of mechanical and electrical, manufacturing assembly and testing.

The candidate will interface with customers, suppliers and other organizations within our business enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Investigating and resolving non-conformances and escapes by utilizing industry and UTC investigation tools and practices, and driving initiatives to implement robust root cause and corrective actions.

•Collecting, analyzing and using data to drive process improvements.

•Coordinating first article inspections, contract reviews, source inspections and supporting all aspects of product development and/or production, review of designs, specifications and drawings.

•Assisting Quality Engineering Management and other functional managers to implement and develop process and product improvements.

• Self-motivated with a passion for QA and proven problem-solving ability.

Qualification:

•Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry; experience in other industries is a plus

•Knowledge of various types of testing tools and methodologies

•Possess the ability to work well with others in a team environment, and lead as appropriate to ensure team success. Prior team leadership roles a plus.

•Self-starter, effective communicator and possess the ability to organize and plan your work schedule

•Knowledgeable of manufacturing and inspection processes and methods, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other engineering technical data

•Must have the preliminary knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) processes with the ability to analyze nonconformance's for disposition

•Assist in leading group process improvements using our UTC continuous improvement system (ACE), including the continued development of standard work for program management group processes.

• Six sigma experience or LEAN, knowledge of Lean Product Development (LPD) and Continuous Improvement (CI) is preferred but not required; including experience working within an environment that embraces the daily use of these Quality Management tools:

o FEMA

o Six Sigma

o DMAIC

o ACE

o SPC

• Experience with QA systems such as AS9100, ISO, Conducting Audits, ability to manage Rejection Tags and Corrective Action is preferred

•Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans, must comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.

SAP experience preferred

Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspections (FAI) preferred.

Must be a U.S. Citizen, must either hold a current US DoD clearance or must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance if required, and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technically related field.

7 years of Quality experience OR an advanced degree and minimum of 5 years Quality experience in the aerospace, aviation, automotive, or other similar industries
